| Course 1 • 26 – 28 October 2007
The roots of our existence
In this first weekend, you start looking for the roots of your existence.
What do these roots mean to you? Where are they and how do you get into
contact with them? Via myths and rituals, it is possible to come into
contact with your descent. This is also about your place in community
or group. What is your specific place within this community? By means
of a sweat lodge ceremony, under the supervision of Taco Blom, you undergo
a spiritual and physical purification ritual. During the ceremony, you
pray for (you direct your attention to) yourself, your relatives, your
friends, mother earth and the world.
Teachers: Taco Blom, Johan van der Coer and Anneke Zuidema
Course 2 • 7 – 9 December 2007
Medicine woman from the other side of the ocean
For a short time, the School has been contacting a medicine woman from
New Mexico, USA.
Concha is a medicine woman, trained by “Grandmother Guadalupe”
and Maria Felix in sacred rituals and ceremonies in the Huichol tradition
(Mexico). The spiritual path of the Huichol is the path of the heart.
Concha feels very closely related to the spirit of deer and the power
of fire. At this time, she is a respected traditional dancer in a lot
of Pueblo’s in New Mexico. Her respect for nature, fire, prayer
and dance runs like a continuous thread through her life.
At this very moment, we are still consulting with her and it is not yet
clear what direction her workshop will take. But certainly, we promise
you a fascinating weekend. In this weekend, teachings are combined for
first and second year students.
Teacher: Concha Garcia Allen
Course 3 • 11 – 13 January 2008
Meet your ancestors
This weekend is about your family and ancestors and their energetic fields.
You discover which of the things one did not come to terms with are continuously
passed on from generation to generation. In this weekend, you step backwards
into the footsteps of your ancestors and connect with them at a spiritual
level. You also learn to know the healing power of ceremony. It is important
to know who your ancestors are and to discover who you are yourself.
Teachers: Willem Deetman and Tineke ten Cate
Course 4 • 22 – 24 February 2008
Peacemaker
The Peacemaker was an Indian prophet and the founder of the Haudenosaunee
Conference, a successful example of a harmonious and dynamic society.
In a region where war had been reigning for a long time, the Peacemaker
and his fellow-workers were able to make lasting peace.
In this weekend, we invite you to experience this inspiring story yourself
and to give the message and lessons of the Peacemaker a place just now
in our present life. The peacemaker training consists of many powerful
techniques and exercises to overcome the obstacles for inner and outer
peace, and a series of special ceremonies. We work with the group process,
conflict solution and the balance between male and female energies.
Teacher: Ishi Crosby and Sarah Crosby-van der Zee
Course 5 • 28 – 30 March 2008
When there is a longing in the soul
Above all, life is a spiritual happening, a journey of the soul. The spiritual
path is the driving force in our life for our unfurling as an individual
human being and for the development of the world. Most of what drives
us in our interactions is under the surface …
In this weekend, you learn to work with your soul in a very concrete way,
from shamanic traditions. You learn to open up your soul, to walk a soul
path and to live an inspired life. In the second year of training, deepening
takes place. Healing techniques like soul retrieval are taught here.
Teacher: Frans Scheerder-Zilliacus He prepares for this
weekend together with Annika Zilliacus-Scheerder, the second year teacher
for this weekend.
Course 6 • 25 – 27 April 2008
Sounds and healing
In this weekend, we are quietly going to explore our personal, actual
connection with sounds. We receive information about the working, background
and the effects of sound bowls, gongs, tingsha’s, rain sticks, drums
and voice. We are going to hear, feel, see and experience sounds. As they
fill the space in and around you, the borders between “inside and
outside” may fade away, as well as the borders between “upper
awareness”, “day awareness” and “lower awareness”.
In this way, those worlds that are usually experienced as separate can
come together. We can experience miraculously wonderful colours or forms,
and have associations, feelings and thoughts. Also, your themes may turn
up in symbolized form, just like Shaman things such as power animals from
the Upper, Middle or Lower world. During a sound bowl session, many disturbing
thought processes and defence mechanisms temporarily are less strong.
As a result, it is possible to get other insights and make other connections.
Teacher: Christina de Kaste
Course 7 • 16 - 18 May 2008
Basic Shamanism
This weekend forms an introduction to ceremonies like the medicine wheel,
trance journeys, the pipe, the sweat lodge, the Vision Quest, the use
of power objects, etc. As such, it already is a special story how these
traditions and ceremonies have come to the Netherlands. We will go back
to their roots and discover how all these things are interrelated. So,
with all ceremonies, the four directions of the wind are important. And
with all ceremonies, the four elements play a role. We will pay more attention
to some of them, to discover how experiencing and re-living these ceremonies
can enrich your daily life.
Teacher: Roelien de Lange
Course 8 • 12 – 1 5 June 2008

this year. Saturday is entirely devoted to meeting yourself. This meeting
yourself takes place during a medicine walk starting Saturday morning
or afternoon. There also are final talks in which you can express what
you have gained from this year. On Sunday, we close the school year with
a ceremony in the presence of all students. Also this day, certificates
are being handed out. Relatives and friends are most welcome to join.

Sunday 23 September 2007
Family day
On this festive day, we gather as one big Family: students of all years
with their relatives and friends, board members, teachers and guests.
We will welcome and meet the new family members. We will recognise, welcome
and meet again the known family members. All together, we ring in the
new school year in a ceremonial way.
Course 1 • 27 – 28 October 2007
Through the fire of connection
The path to the south is via the element of fire. In this weekend, you
will connect yourself with this element by means of the fire walk. It
is, as you know, the passion and the love you can feel for each other
and in particular for your beloved one. The element of fire represents
the highest level of energy, visibility, fame, elusiveness, the south
and the time of the day when the sun is at its highest. You find fire
in thunder-clouds and where the earth is as it’s deepest. And, as
life itself clarifies everything that is changing steadily and slowly,
so everything will be clarified quickly by the fire. Someone who walks
through the fire will leave the fire-bed as a different person. In this
weekend, you will be introduced to this fire of transformation and the
fire inside yourself.

Tihei Mauri Ora! - Darkness explode into light!
Maori and Celtic Teachings of Life.
From the depths of winter the precious gift of life return. The Earth begins to shed the cold mantle of darkness for the warming cloak of light. Life is preparing the dance of creation and we are invited to join!
The ancestors are gathering to honour the lessons learnt from the dark and bring their discoveries of truth into the light. From the time of living in close family support through the difficulties of winter, to the celebration of enjoying the sweet milk of the newborn lambs.
Haere mai! May the movements of our breath unite!
Teacher: Michael Tonihi
Course 5 • 28 – 30 March 2008
Soul Retrieval
Making a soul journey is in the shaman’s world one of the ways to
heal someone. In a soul journey, the shaman sets out on a journey for
another person to retrieve in the other dimension a part of the soul.
While doing so, a shaman relies on the drumming assistants and his or
her power animals which support the shaman during this search. Beside
this journey, the mythology of yourself, your relatives and your community
will come up for consideration. Mythology may provide a connection between
the earthly and the spiritual and as such function as a door to your soul.
Teacher: Annika Zilliacus-Scheerder
Course 6 • 25 – 27 April 2008
Dream and dream power
In this weekend, we go deeper into our dream consciousness. Our common
or garden dreams as well as shamanistic dreams, trance journeys and visions
can teach us a lot. It is a matter of essence, of application and especially
of energy power.
By means of creativity, body energy work, and the dream re-entry techniques
you learn more about the depth of the dream and about how you can apply
your dream interpretation in daily life.
Teacher: Roelien de Lange
Course 7 • 16 - 18 May 2008
Ancestors and sound…..
Sound is an important instrument for the shaman. You explore with Willem
and Tineke your own sound, the sound of your ancestors and the sound of
nature. We also set out into nature, where we walk the same paths our
ancestors used to walk thousands of years ago. Near the Stienbargen (hunebeds)
of Havelterberg (nature reserve) we connect in a ceremonial way with the
Stone Age, at a spot where our ancestors did the same at the time.
